Heather graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park NY, and worked in the hospitality industry for several years. She built a reputation with many hotel and fine dining establishments within New York, Los Angeles and finally, Vancouver. As she settled down with a home and family, she realized that despite her love for cooking, raising her children took precedence. But previous employers kept calling, asking her to return to work or find suitable replacements. With each incoming inquiry, she knew there was a need for an on-call cooks service that could relieve their staffing issues. Therefore, she decided to start Cooks for Hire Management Inc. to eliminate the search for reliable, efficient and skilled cooks. This would allow clients to get a better idea of the type of employee they were receiving, by gradually incorporating them into their institution.
